70000TONS OF METAL is The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise – 60 Metal Bands play 120 Shows for only 3000 Fans on one 154,000ton Cruise Ship sailing from Florida to Jamaica on board the Independence of the Seas, leaving from Port Everglades, FL on Thursday, February 4th 2016 and returning on Monday, February 8th.

Now in the Sixth year, the event is boasting its sixth consecutive sellout – a testament to the brand’s staying power, innovation and intense customer loyalty. Fans on 70000TONS OF METAL get unrestricted festival access to all live shows on board, not just one show per band with assigned seating based on which cabin category was booked.

Two full days at Sea and the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with World Class artists on a floating luxury resort in the middle of the Caribbean. This event truly has no comparison and since there are no VIP areas it’s like everyone has a backstage pass!

Every band that is booked for 70000TONS OF METAL 2016 will play two shows – once on the way to Jamaica, and once on the way back to Florida, presenting fans the opportunity to see 120 shows, including some very special exclusive performances:

As an exclusive World Premiere, DIAMOND HEAD will be playing unreleased tracks from their upcoming self-titled album.
DRAGONFORCE promises a special set dedicated to their 2014 release “Maximum Overload”.
Former SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo will be bringing his brand new band DEAD CROSS – having only played a couple of warm up shows in California, this will be the newly formed band’s first show in front of a Global audience!
Commemorating 20 years since the release of their 1996 album “Irreligious”, MOONSPELL will perform Irreligious it’s entirety for the first time ever.

For the first time ever, 70000TONS OF METAL are introducing #SuperMetalSunday: The last day of the cruise will coincide with the 2016 SuperBowl which will be screened live on board but it will also include the aforementioned JAMMING IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS, Clinics and Work-Shops with the musicians on board, and last but not least: the World Famous #70000TONS Belly Flop Contest, which will be judged by members of THRYFING, Týr, DRAGONFORCE, ICED EARTH, CRADLE OF FILTH and DELAIN.

ROUND 7 ON THE HORIZON

70000TONS OF METAL will return for the 7th voyage in 2017, and promises to continue the pattern of sailing to a new destination with each voyage.
