Once upon time there was a band in Spain – DIVINE TRAGEDY. However, after a few years of existence, perhaps without much adventure, the musicians were dispersed. And those who remained were gathered other friends and they changed the band’s name on DISTANCE. Along with the name of band they changed a look for creating your own music. But again, it took many years before the band released a full album. But the waitings for the album were worth…

DISTANCE presents a wide range of possibilities of arrangement, which indwell in the minds of musicians. The album is very diverse thematically, though it is still very consistent. The compositions create an interesting mixture, in which the main components are Melodic Death Metal and Metalcore with an intense addition of Progressive Metal and aftertaste of Grunge. These all components were cause that the compositions are very dynamic and energetic, with lots of the heavy crushing guitar riffs and the technical licks and the interesting solos and the various rhythms as well as the variables vocals. The growling is interspersed by pure singings that are enriched by the screams making accents.

The music on the one hand is brutal and devastating, while on the other hand it is very melodic, melancholic and atmospheric. Some of the elements can totally crush by their heaviness and aggression, while others fragments can soothe or bring enchantment (especially the virtuoso motifs).

In the music of DISTANCE I found associations with SOILWORK, among others, and even with PEARL JAM.
